PLATO 2012 network

PLATO is a confidential network which has directly supported and advised over 4000 Irish owner managers to develop and grow their businesses.

Through a unique partnership with large 'parent' companies, PLATO creates a confidential and safe environment for analysis, discussion and decision making.

PLATO understands that being an owner manager is often a lonely place. Customers, employees, suppliers, banks etc... expect that the owner manager supports them, but who supports the…

Speaking at CWiB about spinal care

On Tuesday 7th February, I spoke to over 30 women about spinal health and spinal care, at the Cork Women in Business’s ‘Best face forward’ event.

Speaking at events is one of the most enjoyable aspects of being a Chiropractic. It means that I can truely connect with an audience of people and discuss the importance of spinal health. I can also show them the (non-scary) Activator tool and explain exactly how it works.

During the Cork Women in Business event, I…

Chiropractic tips for high heel wearers

Can a chiropractor improve your swing?

Golf may be the leisurely, thinking man’s sport, but the unilateral movement of the golf swing can be hazardous to a golfer’s health. To hit the ball over a great distance, a golfer must to be able to rotate into and maintain a wide arc through the swing.

But can a chiropractor improve your swing?

Research studies in sports medicine tell us that approximately 30% of touring professionals are playing with a golfing injury.  Imagine the difference it would…

Your Company in the eyes of Social Media

When I recently created a marketing strategy for a new client, I did what I normally do first, work backwards.

First from the consumers eye, then to product need/desire until I arrive back at the clients requirements. Once I had the idea how we could achieve not only success but ROI success, it dawned on me that as we as consumers have moved away further from traditional points of contact such as mass advertising, some companies still yet don’t see social media as a…

Ning payment plan - impact on this site.

Important - Ning has introduced pricing plans for sites that use their platform, such as CorkBusiness.ning.com. As we are a non-profit site we need to ensure we are cost effective. Essentially we have two options, either look to recoup the value of the pricing plan somehow or reduce the number of members to below 150 and fall into the entry level pricing plan (still a cost associated but it is minimal).

Originally…

Twitter for Business

I am looking for feedback on an application I have developed (it's not 100% yet but very close to it).

I have developed a Twitter Application to help business promote themselves online via Twitter. Think of it as a 60 seconds online.

If you are familiar with Twitter, then the concept is really promoting your business in 140 char's, but instead of the message being seen by all your followers and being sent from your account, it is sent to all the followers of…
